Canon 7D Amazon Shipping Saga

After some drama two years ago ordering a Canon 40D from Amazon, my Canon 7D order also provided a bit of excitement. Canon announced the 7D DSLR on August 31st, 2009. I happen to see the order page go live on Amazon; probably within an hour, so figured, what the heck (plus the wife was sleeping) ... so lets place an order! ;-)

Pre-production reviews start tricking out and everyone says this is a pretty rocking camera. So even though this is some big bucks, maybe I can justify it to my wife as an early Christmas, Birthday, and everything else present. I think I was one of the first people to get the Canon 7D from Amazon - hitting reload on the Status Page about a bazillion times may have helped! ;-)
