Longs Peak Colorado Panorama
From the 14,255' top of the
Longs Peak summit
you get quite a 360° view. So using a 5 mega-pixel Canon G5 prosumer
digicam, I shot a few test pictures, and then manually set/forced the
aperature to F8.0 and the shutter speed to 1/400 second ... and then rotated
around the top of Longs Peak, shooting a dozen pictures which I then
stitched togather as a panorama.
I used this nifty autostitch program
which did most of the work followed by a few touchup's in Photoshop.
It was kinda fun to put togather a picture like this ... although it's a bit
wierd seeing a rotated view on a flat surface. It is slightly more
than 360° per the duplicate "S" headings - note also the same group of
people can be seen on the ends.
BTW, under the "N" heading is my brother Myke in red
and brother Kris in blue is to his left.

BTW, if you have a really big computer screen, take a look at
this 5,500x500 pixel image
Note that is even a scaled-down version of the 21,846x1,986 pixel stitched original! ;-)
