CCLL Giants Baseball - May 10th, 2012 NIGHT game!

Photography Notes: Pictures & Video taken with a Canon 7D and 500/F4 for the CenterField pics others with 70-200/2.8. Obviously not as bright as a sunny daytime game ... so ISO is bumped and shutter speed reduced - as much as 7 stops!

While there is some motion blur due to the slow shutter speed (as low as 1/100s) and there is some reduced dynamic range and the pics are a bit noisy (ISO as high as 3200!), I was pleased how well this night baseball shot came out.

Both pics below are from the Seattle Mariners' stadium have about two more stops of light which helps a lot. I happened to be visiting family in Seattle - only baseball games I went to both years. Simply amazing that on the same day in both 2008 & 2009 I saw (and captured) walk-off home runs. I wasn't in Seattle in 2010 ... but maybe I should have bought lottery tickets then! ;-)
