After departing
Grytviken, a short
overnight cruise took us to Drygalski Fjord on the southeast coast
of South Georgia near Cape Disappointment.
It is named after Professor Erich von Drygalski who was the leader of
the 1901-1903 Antarctica expedition. While (relatively speaking) we
didn't see that much wildlife (besides a bazillion birds near the
Risting Glacier - must have been some sort of food source), the scenery was stupendous!
