Design, Installation, and Operation of the Tesla 7.6kW Inverter 1538000-45

While the inverter was installed along with the panels, I thought a dedicated webpage about that would be helpful. Note that Tesla uses a single "string" inverter (at ground-level) versus micro-inverters at each panel on the roof. Here's the spec sheet and their architectural white paper.

My biggest disappointment/frustration is that rather than simply run separate wires for each solar array, Tesla "combined" the wiring for the East & West facing panels. This results in a slight loss of production and reduced ability to troubleshoot ... all to save the cost of a couple dozen feet of wire.

This was the design per the spec sheets - note that MP1 and MP2 are combined on the roof - GRRRR!

I suspect the CR14250 rechargeable lithium battery on the circuit board will require replacing in about a decade

The Tesla Inverter is "weatherproof" ... but I still added (hacked!) the rain/wind/sun guard for extra protection
